AI Receptionist Cost: Calculate What You'd Actually Pay

Verified Oct 5, 2026

Starting prices are not comparable when providers meter calls, minutes, unique customers, credits, or conversations differently.

Calculate My Cost

Enter the inputs you know. Missing inputs stay visible as incomplete or estimated results.

Results are workload-specific. Provider evidence status remains visible on every card.

Normalized monthly cost

What the current inputs show

Example based on the assumptions shown below.

UpfirstCONFIRMED
$159.95
Pro

PER_CALL estimate: Base Price + Billable Call Overage.

RosieESTIMATED
$149.00
Scale

ESTIMATED from average duration; each call rounds up to 60 seconds.

FrontdeskESTIMATED
$189.00
Business-in-a-Box

VOICE-ONLY ESTIMATE; shared credits may also be used by other channels.

GoodcallNEEDS VERIFICATION

NEEDS_MORE_INPUT: enter Unique Callers before comparing this provider.

Smith.aiCONFIRMED
$500.00
Enterprise 300

PER_CALL estimate; the free tier is limited, not unlimited.

Jobber ReceptionistCONFLICTED
—

Base add-on $29/month CONFIRMED; included conversations are CONFLICTED and overage NEEDS_VERIFICATION.

Goodcall needs Unique Callers input; Jobber is excluded from precise cost ranking because its allowance is conflicted; Frontdesk is voice-only.

Decision

Compare the cost basis, not just the headline price

The lowest estimated monthly cost is only meaningful when the billing inputs and evidence scope are comparable. Custom quotes, missing inputs, voice-only estimates, and conflicted data are not treated as zero.

Why starting prices mislead

Five billing models

Each model below uses the provider examples and inputs recorded in the G6.10 data layer.

PER CALL

Examples: Upfirst, Smith.ai

Inputs: billable calls

PER MINUTE

Examples: Rosie

Inputs: per-call durations or an explicitly estimated duration model

HYBRID CREDITS

Examples: Frontdesk

Inputs: voice minutes, other credit-consuming usage, credit balance/reload behavior

PER UNIQUE CUSTOMER

Examples: Goodcall

Inputs: unique interacting caller phone numbers, agent count

PER CONVERSATION

Examples: Jobber Receptionist

Inputs: conversations

Current allowance conflict must be resolved before precise current Jobber cost modeling.

Cost drivers

What changes your real bill?

  • Number of billable calls and excluded-call rules
  • Individual call duration distribution, not only the average
  • Unique callers and agent count
  • Shared credit usage across voice, SMS, chat, or forms
  • Plan upgrade and overage behavior
  • Required booking, transfer, CRM, or Jobber workflow

Same workload comparison

Recalculate the same workload across providers

The cards above update from the same inputs through the shared Pricing Engine. A missing required input produces an explicit incomplete status.

Cost vs break-even

Provider cost is not business profit

A cheaper plan is not automatically the better economic choice. Break-even requires Gross Profit per Job or Gross Margin data, which this pricing page does not collect.

Methodology & evidence

How the comparison is normalized

Prices, plan limits, billing units, verified dates, and conflicts come from the G6.10 evidence layer.

Open calculation notes

Upfirst evaluates every valid plan as Base Price + Billable Call Overage. Rosie rounds each individual call to the next 60 seconds when durations are available; average-duration inputs are ESTIMATED. Frontdesk preserves its shared credit pool, reload blocks, and residual credits but is labeled VOICE-ONLY ESTIMATE. Goodcall requires Unique Callers and verified agent-count behavior. Jobber shows only its confirmed base add-on because allowance and overage evidence remain unresolved.

Affiliate commission never enters pricing, ranking, fit, or ROI. No ROI is calculated without Gross Profit or Gross Margin.
